This is just a post to kind of bring everything up to speed since I can't seem to pull together regular posting!
Well, its just under the 2 month mark to the wedding. We're both getting really excited. Both of our wedding rings have arrived and for me it is really becoming a reality that this is really happening. Also, we have our Honeymoon booked in Montreal. I'm REALLY excited for that.
Last weekend we had our Jack + Jill party. For those who don't know what that is, it's a fund raising type of engagement party. My Dad put it together for us, but our bridal party helped out a lot too. Plus, my sister and brother in-law (still getting used to saying that) lended a huge hand.
We had an amazing turnout. We had 140 people there. Everyone had an amazing time, and Holly and I both feel extremely lucky to have such an amazing group of people around us. Seriously, our turnout was nothing short of mind blowing. It makes me feel so lucky to have people who go the distance for us.
We did have one issue that I find both hilarious and embarrassing. One of our bridesmaids, got wasted off of smuggled booze (there was free beer and wine @ the party!!), puked and passed out in the restaurant. I just think that in the long run it may bite her in the ass a little bit. She's got a lifetime of little digs that are gonna be coming from me. Oh another thing, our rehearsal dinner is @ the same place. Should be fun!
Anyway that's the wedding biz. As for what's been up with me otherwise, it has been basically the same old thing. However, I'm now playing blues! I have wanted to get into this for a while and I'm glad that I was able to make the jump. I stumbled onto a songwriter who was looking to put a band together, and things have been falling into place from there. I'm really excited, so far I've learned about 10 songs and have been working tightening things up so we can start playing some jams!
As for Chloe. That girl is going to be in kindergarten in the friggen fall! She's having her 5th birthday in August!! Do you have any idea how old that makes me feel!?! As I'm writing this she's napping on the floor while I watch "Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge". I love lazy Sundays! |
